I have decided on the person I want to be executor of my estate upon my death andI would like to compensate them for that duty. How many hours will they likely spend to settle my estate? How are they commonly compensated? Are they listed as beneficiaries in the will?
My estate won’t be complicated. I own a home and have other assets (the usual: bank accounts, stocks, 401Ks, etc).

The executor for my parent’s estate wants to buy my son a rental property as an investment, but my son (just turning 18) doesn’t want rental properties. The executor would be managing the property, making repairs, and in control of it-in another state.
This is the latest in ways that he has manipulated and exploited the estate for his profit.

A friend is the executor of his fathers small estate and needs to cash in his deceased fathers stock. He called his lawyer who seems confused as to how to do it, but the lawyer says it must be done. My friend has all the paperwork – EIN, death certificates, etc. He has the stock certificate in hand. He lives in NY State. What is the best way for him to cash in the stock for money? Will he be charged a fee?

My father passed away Dec. 1, 2007. I am the sole trustee, executor and power of attorney. There is a no contest clause in the will and trust. He lived in CA I live in Oregon. I have had to travel back and forth a lot to finalize the estate. I have kept ALL receipts. What sort of things can I write off against the estate when I close the trust?

My uncle died without leaving a will or naming an executor to his estate. His spouse is deceased and he had no children. It will fall on my aunts and uncles to sort things out. How do they go about naming an executor to his estate? Will we need a lawyer? He lived in Texas.
